No drama or trauma with the flights to and fro this time – a first.
The trip home was, once again, a whirlwind, even though we allotted two entire months this time around. Such wonderful friends!!! Our amazing welcome home included airport pick-up and delivery to our well-ordered home, which was abundantly supplied with lots of lovely noshes including yummy homemade soup and brownies – even a Welcome Home banner.
We enjoyed all of the holiday festivities, visits with family, babysitting Misu (the cat) for almost 3 weeks,
recon for the upcoming SAR puppy, great massages, walks in the park with blooming cherry trees (pre-Snowmageddon),
And all our amazing friends- lots of lovely lunches and dinners – both in homes and restaurants, Maryland Yacht Club gathering, women’s clubs parties and outings, symphony performance, Toy 4 Tots collections, Garden Group get-togethers, bridge class reunion lunch, Riverbend events, NYC excursion, etc. I think Frank spent more hours at the Fire Dept. or on-duty than at home, especially during the Snowmageddon.
I don’t think we had any nights and very few days at home except when sick with a nasty head cold and snowed in from Snowmageddon. Add fun things like taxes, medical appointments, financial stuff, house repairs and maintenance, health insurance, car shopping, etc. to fill the rest of the days.
Thanks to everyone for such a great visit home!
